Darlingtonia are native to Oregon and California and are known for their twisting stems and mustache-esque "fangs". Insects are lured by the haunting prisms of light that dance through translucent spots on the hood. As they feast on the nectar exuded by the plant, they become trapped and fall victim to the Darlingtonia's carnivorous nature.
These plants are divisions from mature plants grown from seed. Plants are established in a mix of sphagnum moss and perlite, and may be shipped in a 3" or 4" standard pot or a net pot.
Darlingtonia growers should be able to provide the plant with the bright light and cool temperatures it prefers. If these conditions are met, this notoriously finicky plant can be grown with ease. This plant has been growing outdoors and will easily acclimate.
