Utricularia subulata is a common, easy to grow bladderwort with grass-like leaves and bright yellow flowers. If you grow it in a clear container or net pot, you get the added benefit of seeing the tiny underground carnivorous traps. It is adaptable to many environments but is an especially excellent choice for the open terrarium or paludarium.

Utricularia are shipped potted in 2" pots with a mix of sphagnum moss, peat, and perlite

Please note - it is possible that these pots may contain additional species of Utricularia and/or live sphagnum moss. It is probable that they contain springtails. Springtails are tiny, detritus-consuming bugs that are beneficial to carnivorous plants. Not only do they clean up fungus and organic matter, but they also serve as perfect snacks for the tiny bladder traps. They are not harmful to humans, pets, other plants, or property.
